Re: Mérida
Comala s attractive and has lots of greenery.. but still too hot for me..That area is beautiful but as C bob mentioned no thanks.. do not want to be that close to a volcano . It is only cool if you are used to the coastal climate-
The climate here is hard to beat ..Comitan in Chiapas as a similar climate but as an expat you would be isolated and lonely..

We love Comala in the daytime, but the evening mosquitoes can be bad.

Re: Mérida
So, my current take is that the coastal, and neighboring coastal areas, are hot and oppressively humid - and that will continue to increase - and the highlands of the country are criminally insecure in many areas with growing, manufacturing and transportation routes abundant.
There are a number of beautiful places I'd love to live in Michoacan, but . . .

Re: Mérida
There are plenty of expats living in Michoacan and no one is getting killed. If you read the papers Jalisco has plenty of cartels as well , at our age, you cannot stop doing what you want to do because you may die...

But being dead definitely puts a stop to doing what you want to do.

Re: Mérida
lol ferret! Yes it does. I'm not afraid of dying or being killed. It's a quality of life thing for me.

Re: Mérida
and then.......quality of life is an unattainable goal; just a memory, while the quality of one's death comes more frequently to mind.

Re: Mérida
How many expats have been killed in Michoacan who did not have anything to do with rugs?
If you have a dream do it.. You only live once..
