Stamped Concrete Flooring
We’re hoping to redo our patio/terrace. Thinking to do stamped concrete instead of tile which we have now. I’m concerned about the slippery factor...do you think wet concrete would be more or less slippery than tile? Thanks in advance for your input!

Re: Stamped Concrete Flooring
Slipperyness depends on the texture of the concrete, which would naturally be somewhat rough, unless it's ultra smooth. Tile can be purchased with a rougher texture than floor or wall tile (which is used quite a bit here for floor tile, big boo boo).

I think stamped concete is the way to go. It will require someone who has experience with this technique in the USA or Canada, moved back here with a roughly $20-25,000 investment in dyes, molds, and special tools. Then someone who understands about expansion joints, even though the material they use for joints is not available for Mexico. Not trying to discourage you, just trying to tell it like it is. If you find someone who has experience with Hill Bros. magnesium floors, let me know. This is the very best and I can help finding Mexican suppliers. It looks like custom fitted terracotta tile, even on stairways and handrails, actually it is a handtooled paste. Any color etc.

The only place that I know of is beside the Pemex next to Baja Grills in Riberas. They have a large choice of styles and techniques. I also believe that they are the ones who did the stamped concrete on the path between the Scandinavian Bakery and the other restaurant at the Laguna Mall.
