Airlines from Vancouver BC

I am wondering who people use to fly from Vancouver BC to Guadalajara and don't use what I think is the worst airline on the planet, AeroMexico.

My suggestion would be to try WestJet or Air Alaska directly to PV and then PV to Guadalajara using Volaris or another Mexican inner country airline. There is also a first class bus from PV to Guadalajara and the scenery is spectacular although I'm not thrilled about the bus right now. Or you can hire a private car from PV to Guadalajara and it would bypass Guadalajara and bring you directly lakeside.

I have used Aeromexico to/from Vancouver on many occasions and find them to be terrific. Far better than Air Canada.

Is that a direct flight CBob? And I'm assuming it goes into Mexico City?

It is via Mexico City. No direct flights flights from GDL to anywhere in Canada with any airline.

Air Alaska from Vancouver via LAX.

Scratch that one. It is better to fly over the U.S. any time and especially right now.

Thats for sure. Vancouver to Mexico City direct. Alaska has horrible schedules anyhow.

Over the years, I have flown many times into and out of the Mexico City Airport. It is, imho, a disaster. Too big now and wherever I want to go, it's at the opposite end. Sigh.
The PV airport is small and compact and easy to navigate. I used it for six years when we lived on the coast. I will continue to use it because it is less aggravating to fly (or drive or bus) to PV and then to TORONTO with Westjet than any other way. YMMV.

Very limited schedule from PV during the summer months. Hopefully they will have direct flights from GDL to major Canadian cities one day. I can't figure out why some airline isn't already doing it.

I've used them a couple of times but now they are playing way to many games. I book and pay and also pay for luggage. They cancel and don't put you on the next flight they give an open ticket one way. The return is still booked. Then you have to phone them to book your one way and that is hours on hold. When you do rebook they won't use the money you paid for your luggage. They keep it and you have to pay again. This has happened twice now. Yesterday was the 2nd time. They cancelled my Dec 1st flight and they have one on Dec 2nd but won't just put you on that flight you have to call them.
Oh, if you want to cancel the whole flight including return you have to wait till July 2021 to get your money back.

That sucks. I understand many airlines are playing those games at the moment.

So I finally got through to reservations. In the email they sent me advising of the cancellation of my fight stated I had to phone to rebook. I booked and they sent the email with the ticket PLUS a receipt for $19.00 ca for using the phone reservation service. HUH They told me I had to call to book.

Heads Up Everyone.Whether you're flying Biz or coach it is your responsibility to check/monitor the status of your flight. It's in the "fine Print" of your ticket/contract with the airline. Start about 3 days out from your departure.Just been there with aero mx 30/09. Scratched my biz flight. No info from them. Sorted after 50 minutes on hold. Get it. The airlines are under no contractual obligation to keep you abreast of your flight status. That they do contact you is a courtesy. The word's getting short on that
