New Indian Restaurant

A friend and I had lunch Saturday at the new Al Mergi. Located in the walk through at Plaza Bugambilias Ajijic.
Had butter chicken my friend ordered Ginger chicken, spiced to our liking a #4 on a scale of 0 to 10. Was perfect, not overpowering.
i30p and 140p respectively. The rice was tasty, not all sticky. Served in separate dishes so we could share. Nan included, neither my friend or I eat bread so we passed on the nan.
Would recommend trying them out. Something a little different.
The staff are friendly very accommodating to our taste buds.
Will defiantly go back again.

We tried this yesterday. I would rate it a 3 out of 5. It is new so I'll give them a break. The food was good but wasn't curry spicy enough. I would ask them to ramp it up next time. I will try it again in a few weeks.

did you ask fo 10 for picante? The 10 is hot not super hot but hot enough.

Some people like hot; some don't. I don't think I would judge a restaurant on the spiciness unless that's their raison d'etre. Rather I would be describing the taste of the dishes. So, Bob, does the taste rate a 3?

The food was delicious.

If it was spiced up I would have given it a 4. I have many Indian friends in Vancouver so have been spoiled with awesome Indian food. The new waiter forgot to ask us how spicy we wanted it for which the owner apologized.

oh I asked for 10 in heat with the lamb and " normal" for the rest.. there did not seem to be much differnce between the two but it was spicy.. They only forgot to give us the rice and almost forgot the lassi,,, details,,

Lol......yes they forgot the rice with us as well. It came within minutes of asking. I think it will be great once they work the bugs out.

Good thing I always have basmati at home so I made it when I arrived but it defeats a little bit the idea of take out..

Yeah for sure. They forgot our rice in the restaurant......lol. I will ask for 10 spiciness next time I'm there.

Forgetting to serve rice is the strangest thing I know... Yes if you like really hot food their 10 is not superhot but it does have a kick.
