Arileo
Is Arileo closed, or just closed until high season?

Re: Arileo
They closed with no notice and then the little store that used the same parking lot closed as well.

There is a new restaurant there now. Can't remember the name.

Re: Arileo
We drove to Arileo's at lunchtime today: the old signs are still up; no indication of new management and the doors are firmly shut. We backtracked to El Ancla and I tried their Azec soup: had everything you'd expect, and much more: chunks of white cheese and avocados, plus a large dollop of crema. Delicious flavor! Esposo had their huge, lean hamburger with all the enhancements with the side of a large baked potato (to take home).

Lake City Grill
yes Lake City Grill will be taking over Arilao and expanding their menu from just burgers, mac and cheese and sushi. They will be adding pizza and more as well as their specials

Re: Arileo
Our favorite gathering place had been Arielo's ... great menue, atmosphere, and location...
Sadly... the new occupants... ain't Arielo's.
My $200 peso burger was nuthin special.
Wife had the pizza... also nuthin special...
Next day.... met friends at Food Container...
Ordered Burger just to compare.
Food Containers $110 peso burger was better.
Jus say'n is all.
Sadly... the new occupants... ain't Arielo's.

Re: Arileo
Those prices... like $185 for a portobello mushroom in a burger... are exactly what kept me away when they were Lake Burger. The head-scratcher here is: did they really make enough income to go a rent a much bigger place? Or did they get it for a steal? Because I can't see that many people going for those kind of burger prices. Especially in the west end, where restaurants routinely fail due to lack of attendance.

Anyone (other than Facebook) who can post a current menu? (Don't use Facebook)
Would appreciate it. Arileo's was our favorite lunch restaurant.

Re: Arileo
I always chuckle when I see a place doing steaks, burgers, and sushi. Sushi is not a "menu item". A couple of months ago we went into a steak/burger/pizza/sushi joint in Barra de Navidad. Big sign out front. "Oh, no, we haven't had sushi for years... it was just too much." Reminds me of my favourite store in Ottawa when I was younger: Ali Computers and Flowers.
Is it worth mentioning that most Mexican sushi is pretty bad to begin with, using boiled cheap rice and a ton of Philly?
