I saw that. Wish someone had the true numbers of how many ex-pats live here full time.

I agree but maybe more like 4 or 3 to 1. Why is it so hard to get accurate numbers? Is there a way to get stats from the government on how many permanentes and temporary residents there are?

Actually, Bob, while there may be widows, single females tend to be more adventurous and confident about travelling and living on their own than single males, in my experience. I know lots of single women of all ages who have settled in Mexico and almost none of them came down with a husband who died, they came on their own.
And lots of women like living on their own. Men not so much. One of the reasons there are more single women than men is because when a man breaks up with his partner, or she dies, they tend to look for a new relationship fairly soon.

That would be moi. Single all my life. This would be a great place for single male retirees.

Except they tend to go for Mexican girlfriends half their age. :-)

This is also true. Some guys actually like that, some don't.

With the way American women act at times I can see why a x pat would be attracted to a caring Mexican local. Now the age difference I never understand with American men. Not sure how they gave enough in common to get a strong relationship. Thank God I have a wonderful wife! 30 years married this year.

Wife says the same thing about American men as I do about American women. I would be forever single if anything ever happened to my wife..... One of a kind and irreplaceable.

I can assure you that Gringo guys who marry Mexican women do not find it unproblematic. You seem to think Mexican women are all sweet and compliant and faithful, which is a ridiculous assumption.
Jealousy is a huge issue- many Mexican women don't want their husbands to have any female friends, or even talk to other women socially.

LOL my wife is super spicy... what drew me too her... she was a Army vehicle mechanic. And she was in charge of you when you went to do work on your vehicle.... again super sexy never showed fear of getting soldiers to do the work she was in charge of getting them to do!

American women want balless men who will do what they say when they say it. They get upset when you open a door for them but then want you to pay for dinner? Heck some are now attacking women who choose to be house wives... like it some kind of insult. I got of the army first so I stayed home with our son while she finished her time in. didn't bother me at all but tons of American women didn't know what do say. She stayed home after because she felt like she missed out because of her working and me staying home. She did like any parent who works while the other stay home.
