Does anyone use Skype to communicate back to the US or Canada? If so, how well does it work and what internet service (and speed) are you using? Thanks.

I have used Skype at the Lake with both the ADSL and cable internet connections. They both worked equally well. I haven't tried video Skype with them yet.

I use Skype with good results over a Telmex DSL. I have talked to the USA and the UK.

I wasn't clear in my question. I have only used Skype in the video capacity so I was more interested in that mode. Our whole family uses it to communicate with video, from DC to CA and from the US to Canada. Any experiences in that mode?

Well I stream live hockey games and for the most part they are occasionally a bit choppy but otherwise OK. I would imagine the video skype would be the equivalent however maybe someone here has actual experience with it.

I use Skype to Tempe AZ, Oregon and Minnesota. I use the internet from Texmex and have cheapest plan. The audio portion is great but video from here to the states isn't. I am usually dropped but get lucky once in awhile then it is real good. The video from the states to here is great usually and have good audio. I see them but they don't see me which could be a good thing.
