Next Restaurant Swarm

We're in for four, anyday except Thrusday if possible.

At least two... any day but Monday. It's Can-Am day at LCS! Come buy my chocolate cake at the Cruz Roja bake sale table.

Friday is our vote. Same as last time. 2 of us.

I believe they are closed Tuesday. I am hoping to make it but something always comes up on Swarm day.

I know that directions have been posted for this restaurant on TOB, but could someone re-post them here?

Just for fun, I am recuperating from an injury have a lot of time on my hands so "fun" has a very broad definition right now...So, just for fun I went back to almost the very beginning of the general forum and read some posts. Back then, even Cbob was "in the closet"... almost everyone kept their identities a secret . Now you guys are throwing parties, having lunch together and many seem to know each other personally. I have a hard time visualizing some of you in the same room together without it turning into a crime scene but that's another story...What changed your minds about keeping your identity a secret? Why were you anonymous then and what made you feel comfortable with revealing who you are? Just curious.

A lot of the bomb-throwers have been kicked out. Most of the rest of us (I hope) don't take this stuff to seriously. It's like politics or religion...I don't agree with a lot of others & they don't agree with me, but it doesn't mean we will go to war over it.

And on the other hand, Ms.Thang made a point. There are some people on here I wouldn't enjoy meeting in person. They wouldn't enjoy me, either........so for those who want to party together...........have a good time.

COMMUNITY. The restaurant swarm was a way of connecting/helping our local community. You know, that group of people we're a part of.
Too many people hide behind their computer screens using it to shield themselves from reality; allowing themselves to say things they'd never say in a face to face conversation.
IMO.

I've been fortunate to be part of this board since before Bob started it. He replaced a board that the other forum owner pulled the plug on and left a bunch of us hanging. Thanks to Bob, he restarted it and it has been a very good success due to his efforts.
With that said, many of the people on this board were very easy to meet and responded favorably back 2+years ago when I was merely researching the area. I did not find them hiding and anonymous, they may have had user names but when I PM'd them and asked to meet them on our 1st & 2nd visit they were open and are now some of my best friends here.
I agree with Lunateak we are a small community and now that we have expanded to having restaurant swarms and get togethers it is even better.
I don't read a lot into some of the blathering that goes on in the Octagon, and I don't expect we're all going to hold hands around the campfire and sing Kumbyya (sp) But,I think many have been very open and willing to meet and get together and I personally think that is a whole lot of the enjoyment of living lakeside.
And I look forward to meeting even more new friends at the upcoming swarm at 5 Ponies.

Friday - July 6 - good chance I will be there. Waiting for a friend to come home who needs my help so keeping a few days open.

I've been to the last get together that JimW and his wife were so gracious to host and the first Restaurant Swarm. I have to say I found everyone to be friendly and interesting. And I plan to attend other social functions.

Mi esposa says she love this restaurant swarm idea and of course we love the "Five Ponies." We'll be there.

OK. From here, you head to GDL on Chapala highway. at the bottom of that long hill is Ixtlahuacan. Go to the first retorno, which is an underpass, just a little bit past the town entrance. Now you're headed back in the direction of Chapala. Turn into the main town entrance under the arches. Go straight, you will come to the Plaza, the church is on the left. Go ONE block PAST the Plaza, turn left. Go ONE block, turn left again. Find a place to park. The restaurant is on the corner, entrance facing the street you just turned onto.

We have room in our car if someone from Ajijic or San Antonio needs a ride.

Bummer this is when my 6-Pack ladies group meets every Friday at 2 pm, we hop from rest. to rest. also.
Last week we were way out at Focacia.

Bob you schedule these at the same time and Sharon cannot join us.

If anyone in Chapala needs a ride I will have two empty seats and heading out at 12:30.
