Hosteria del Arte

Friend of mine gave me a flier someone was passing out, and I'm wondering if anyone has been there or knows more about it.
All the flier said was "New Italian Restaurant" called "Hosteria del Arte" "inside the Japanese nursery.
West road N.527 next to Pemex between Ajijic and San Juan Cosala.

No phone number; no hours given. So ???

Have driven by... it's just this side of the gas station, beside the now-defunct drive-through restaurant. Fancy sign; have not seen signs of activity from highway.

I noticed the sign today while on my way to the PEMEX just west. Made a mental note to check it out soon. Promptly forgot until now!

I ate there when it was the "Green Cup", or something like that. It's actually a very pleasant outdoor patio dining spot, since it's set back from the highway a bit, and being a nursery, is nicely landscaped. The place was all new and spotless when we were there (several months ago).

Back then, it was sort of healthful light eating....sandwiches, salads, smoothies, burritos/wraps, etc. And it was good. No wonder it didn't last.

No idea what the new menu offers or how it is.

I think the name of the drive-thru operation was the "Green Cup"...now extinct.
The Hosteria is all inside and around where Sam had his office, back when he had the nursery there.
The new operation is run by the folks who have the Blue Bell ice cream store on the Carretera just east of Aquiles Serdan in Ajijic. They also operated Tajo Burger where El Ancla is now, but are not involved in the operation of Pepito's in the Villa Nova/Rancho del Oro area.

Ready to buy a program??

Hmmm.....anyone want to be the guinea pig? I just read they ran the Tajo Burger and wondered........

They must not have done much market research as the "best Italian food" can be had just down the road in LAS!

I'm interested to see what they present. We've always been happy with La Taverna. Fortunately the peasant of LAS doesn't care for their cuisine and is never seen there.
