i am proud to be an asshole and have perfected it.
so below are the hungarian bread dumplings that go with the duck. y made the red cabbage and gravy. she also made the english triffle for dessert.
oh,i made the maple chopping board many years ago as well.
this should give a KNOB lots of ammo-SNORK!

holy smokes! $156usd fer a goose? my hutterite geese cost me about 14 bucks and they were about 30 at safeway but more fat there/less meat.
the whole ducks at puritan and wally world are around 20 bucks i think.
the ducks and geese i shot,i don't wanna even think how much they cost-astronomical because normally i couldn't hit the broad side of a barn door if i was settin' on it. my dogs were always mad at me because every time i blew a hole in the sky,nuthin' came down fer them ta retrieve-SNORK!

Did a quick peruse of the online specialty goose purveyors and it appears that the going rate is in the $10 - $12 per pound range. Did find one @ $6.99 and another @$8.00 per pound. Many are already sold out for the holiday season. At least with the organic farm raised free range geese, one doesn't have to be on the lookout for "shot" in the meat! How soon will it be before they start advertising "Kobe" or "Wagyu" geese? I can just see the banners on the exterior walls of Whole Foods or Trader Joes for such!

CG, we have a draw in Oregon, gonna get a XMAS goose.......And I being the great white hunter, will bring home dinner.......and I am one of the 20% that shoots 80% of the birds. LMFAO

By the way, when I was a young kid and being introduced to hunting in Japan, we used rented live geese and duck for decoys. Very effective until other hunters shot them on the water and one had to pay the rental outfit for the dead ones!

Unfortunately, we're just a little too far away for a visit. But we have fond memories of two visits (one for a month) to the Czech Republic and really enjoyed the food and, of course, the beer-- and just about everything else, too. We are still in touch with some of the people we met there. It all started when we billeted two young Czech hockey players when we lived in BC.

i had a beretta 12 guage o/u 3inch mag with interchangeable chokes. before that an ithaca 3 inch side by side bought in the '60's. i used a lee loader fer my own shells fer both.
that beretta was still made in italy but they started making ithaca in japan a long time ago -:(, but it was still a good gun.

drunk   Ive sold Guns for 32 years.... never seen an Ithica say Made In Japan....

Browning makes a lot of their stuff in Japan... The Good Browning Shotguns still hail from Belguim

Ithica has faded in and out a couple o times.... today...they are alive and well making special order Shotguns  outta New York & Ohio...
