New Pizza Place in the ole Ola Ole

On the corner of Donata Guerro and 16 de Septiembre in Ajijic. Haven't tried it yet but looking for some reviews of those that have. No shortage of pizza places around here now......

Yep.

Just tried the pizza there last night. Very good. Tastes like Perry's when it was at its peak. I believe the two guys used to work there so it makes sense. I had the regular crust. They also have thin crust. Since we only live a block away we did take out.

The place has been getting rave reviews on TOB. I look forward to trying it.

pizza should be good, both of them worked for Perry for 3 and 4 years, and the original logo was Perry s Mo Jo for Josh and Moses, took his recepies sp and quit. I will never go there

Didn't Perry poach a woman from Domino's who brought him his pizza fame......??

All I know is I'm in favor of more good pizza ... and less small town drama.

Pizza goes good with a cold cerveza and some drama.........jaja.

If people based their restaurant choices on rumor, employee poaching and general small town drama, they'd probably have a very small list of dining choices. Personally, I go for the best food.

And, what's wrong with a couple of employees of any type of business leaving to start their own business? That's just people trying to have a better life and is normal everywhere.

Maybe Josh and Moises didn't agree with Perry's politics. (Insert tongue very firmly in cheek please)

You meant they stole his recipes.

I think the key here is not that recipes were "stolen" but that these guys are making pizza as it was back in the day when Perry's was many people's fav. Perry's is on a downward slide and folks miss the former quality, so best of luck to the new enterprise.

Good for them, more power to 'em! Again, it's called competition. If there wasn't a need, they wouldn't be successful.

Perhaps THEY, not Perry, were the reason for the success of Perry's pizza originally and they got sick of dealing with Perry. . .

Have seen many photos of M&J's pizza on Facebook, and Perry never made pizzas like those except maybe in his dreams. What "recipes" would Perry have for them to "steal"? Pizzas are not rocket science. Looks like they are much more creative than Perry. They have a charming facility and from all accounts are delightful and generous hosts. Again, word of mouth says Perry's has slid in quality. Think Trailrunner nailed it.

Haven't tried the new place yet, but agree that Perry's quality slid. Since the same guys were cooking during the slide, I suspect that the quality of the ingredients was cheapened, as often happens in restaurants.
I noticed that the cheese used wasn't what it used to be, and that's the most expensive ingredient, whether it's made on site or purchased.

Perry's personal loudmouth wasn't an asset either, but I only ate there once. Had it delivered after that.

Perry started using cheaper quality ingredients about 6 month after moving to the new location. I quit ordering sausage it was so bad.
