Riot looking for a place to happen

So it would appear that Jalisco is impossing a prohibition of sorts. The little corner stores are allowed to be open but apparently can't sell any alcohol. I'm assuming Walmart and Soriana won't be able to sell either. Cutting off the flow of tequila is going to get very nasty...........I'm glad Colima is not too far away.

I learned this trick a long time ago in Puerto Vallarta. When a tropical storm or pandemic is on the way, buy in a couple cases of rum and sit it out!

Maybe this will stop bunches of guys after work, beering it up outside the modelorama in Ch. Vista every afternoon and evening. Pissing against the garage wall is one of their isolation sports.

CBob - Any thoughts or ideas on where to send a letter of protest to stop this prohibition of liquor sales. I believe the "powers that be" will regret this decision if it is not rescinded. Just my thoughts.....Barbara

I'm hearing this may only be the municipality of Chapala. Joco apparently still sells liquor.

Can anyone from Joco confirm or deny this?

According to the latest truth or rumor, liquor stores are banned, but liquor sales in groceries are not...at least as yet. The "dry law" has not yet been invoked.

So...if you can drink whatever is offered at Walmart or your favorite tienda, have at it.  Superlake seems to be confused as of yesterday, however.

I heard it was all blocked off at Wal-Mart. Anybody been there this morning yet?

I think I'll hang onto the unopened bottles of booze that I have. Ya never know. They may be increasing in value. Including that aged bottle of red wine vinegar.

Yep you can charge double the sticker price......lol.

Fortunately I have a large liquor cabinet filled with all the left overs that guests leave behind.

Alcoholics are going to have a very rough time with no access to booze. They could go into withdrawal or even die with no alcohol circulating in their system.

Everything was available at Soriana this morning...about 1/2 hr ago.....

El Torito was not blocked off this morning.
How about Walmart. Let us know.

Coolers and shelves open in Walmart this AM plus mountains of Corona/Modelo just inside of the entrance, not blocked off. I didn't try to buy any but saw several people with bottles in their carts.

I just got back from Walmart their liquor dept is open and fully stocked, I bought a bottle of tequila no problem....

Husband went to Soriana today (Sunday 5th) and bought wine. Said the liquor aisles were not blocked off.
