Vancouver man in Guad prison

Anyone heard or know anything about this story?

This man was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He had no idea who his friend really was and he got swept up when the police arrested his friend.

It's a very sad story and a bad situation. He had done nothing wrong and was simply living on the coast and enjoying life with his family.

The family continues to fight for his release and they are using a lawyer from Eddie Greenspans office who represented another Canadian here.

Intercasa ... before you cast this person in a bad light I suggest you learn the facts. The man was not poor and was living here with his wife and young children.

I just see the same story all the time and it is always similar so I paint them all with a broad brush. Important lesson to all is be careful of who you hang out with and if something looks too good to be true it probably is.

Not judgmental, real and can see patterns. I don't know the guy but the story is very familiar, only the names seem to change.

If the stories are similar maybe it's more a reflection on the law here and not the person. Especially when you consider what happened to Rebecca Roth.

You seem to be judgmental in one direction only....those arrested ... and never focus on arrests that are very questionable.

In fact, some of the charges against this man have already been dropped.

I don't like risk. The reality here in Mexico is that if someone isn't working or studying then generally they are a criminal or up to no good, the vast majority of the time. Also if someone seems to have alot of money but no real source of income, once again, watch out. There are many younger foreigners here locally into bad things and that is why I really don't associate with them, soon some will be in jail / deported / dead and I won't be surprised but many caught up with them will be.

It is pretty hard to get into jail here in Mexico and stay there, you really have to make poor decisions. Best way to stay out of jail is to be careful who you associate with which time and time again nobody follows and then they complain later, a situation completely avoidable.
