If I may ask, what video editing program do you use? I have approx 35 hours of video segments taken with a Flip cam through the windshield of the car we drove on our trip. I have been playing with the Flip software but haven't been totally satisfied with what it can do. I want to take various trip segments and join them to result in shortened movies of less than 15 minutes with music.

I edited these videos using the Samsung video editor software on my Galaxy s 3 smartphone. It does not have a lot of features but it was free.

Windows Movie Maker, though limited in its features, is easy to use and largely intuitive. It is also free.

Thanks for your comments! Obviously the Samsung software is out and I don't think MS Movie Maker will accomplish what I want. Time to throw on the "learning hat" and figure something out now that I am done assembling photo albums.

When I want more features than those available with Movie Maker I use Pinnacle Studio - but it isn't a freebie and is less intuitive, although feature rich.

Thanks Axixic! I think I will download the trial and see if it is in my "pay grade".

I use CyberLink PowerDirector. Here's a link to a video I did a couple years back using a Flip camcorder, edited with the above software:

I believe you need a 64-bit computer for PowerDirector, if that's relevant to you.
