Final Issue of Lake Chapala Review
Posted on TOB:
"Just picked up that latest (Jan. 15, 2014) issue of Lake Chapala Review only to read that it's their final issue, after years of well-publicized financial struggles.
Coming as it does not long after LCR editor Judy King stopped publishing her on-line Mexico Insights magazine we're down to the Ojo and Guadalajara Reporter for local print journalism. Clearly it's a sign of the times, reflecting both the downturn in the local economy and the perilous environment for print publications in the internet age.
So much good writing and valuable information for so many years.....really a loss for the community."
I agree. This is a loss for the community.

I know they talked about folding previously but this must have been a somewhat sudden decision - they were still accepting submissions for their cover photo competition at the beginning of January.

Re: Final Issue of Lake Chapala Review
Judy King would be a great online teacher for a lot of us feebs who struggle with the internet. She taught me how to cut and paste...she MADE me do it!! She kept up on me...knowing I would read her directions, go uh huh and completely forget about it. She seemed to know when I was just agreeing and not doing...tough lady but I learned!! Who'd a thunk it! GREAT teacher. It was like she could see through the computer and catch me NOT doing it. LOL!!! Cut and paste is such a time saver I can't imagine being without that little bit of knowledge. Thank you Judy.

Judy didn't quit, the magazine was discontinued. And I will greatly miss reading, and writing for it.
