Late night eateries (After 8pm)

What are some good restaurants that are open after 8pm and serve food? I mean apart from pizza and tacos. It seems like midweek many places shut down early and I want to take my wife out to dinner after work but we will probably arrive a bit after 8pm.

Would be good to list who is open midweek and how late there is service.

If money wasnt an option (someone else is paying to thank us), where is the best place to go on a Tuesday night who serves food after 8pm but before 10pm in the Chapala / Ajijic area?

Tangos

Los Talveres

Tuesday night seems to be the most popular time for restaurants to be closed. We always avoided going out on Tuesday evenings, as it was hard to find anyone open.

Tango is definitely closed Tuesday.

Restaurant 4 is open until 11 pm. Great for having a high-end dining experience. Here's a link to their website.....

Tabarka would probably do an 8 pm. sitting. Check. Great sea food. Nice ambience.

Number 4 was closed and we are at Jardin de Ninette. Im not a fan of Tabarka, not my kind of food

Los Telares. #4 is closed Mon/Tue.

Have you tried Mangia Mia in West Ajijic or Letra CH in Chapala? Both open Tuesdays until 9pm. Unless they have changed their hours for summer, Monte Cristo's is open until 9pm and this is where we take our guests. Check out www.lakechapalarestaurantguide.blogspot.com for full reviews, pictures and info. Letra CH doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food is excellent. Also, La Taverna dei Quattro Mori in San Antonio, Tlay. is open 11am - 11pm daily and has a nice atmosphere, fireplace in the dining room, like an Italian bistro.

Unfortunately Mangia Mia closed for business about a month ago.

Strange how there doesn't seem to be any noteworthy restaurants open after 8:00pm in Chapala. There has to be a least one. No?

Il Giardino but it is pizza tastes like cardboard and hit and miss other food. Some taco joints but nothing nice and sit down that isnt a clone of the other mediocre places.

Arileo...west of Ajijic until 9 pm. Excellent steakhouse plus many other choices. Closed on Wed.
Cocinart on 16 de Septiembre until 9 pm except Sunday, when they close at 6. Closed Mon. & Tues.

Both are top notch, with reasonable prices.

good prime rib ( Fridays ) ... good duck... excellent seafood bisque...  one of my favorites

I discovered last night that La Vita Bella in the Raquet Club, with the big lake view, is open til 11pm. Well, that's what their website says anyway, but I don't think I'd push it. 01-387-761 1145

And, at Arileo, my spouse's favorite salmon with pesto. Best in town. Big, juicy, flaky.

Don't give up on them. Make a res. and tell them you'll want MEAT. I got an excellent bone on ribeye that way, plus a great baked potato. With a heads up he's VERY accommodating. Good service and good wine that he only seems to source. Next time I'm asking for escalloped potatoes for 4. Will probably be great.

Wow. Just ate there before making a trip back to the USA. Too bad. I really liked Mangia Mia.

Went Sunday, many places closed after 6pm, said it was for low season, they need more Guadalajara clients as relying on gringos is a poor strategy for high end eateries.

Went to one but they had no sprite, also had mosquitoes everywhere, if you have a garden setting you need to spray daily, other customers loaned us repellant.

La Vita Bella in SJC/Raquet caters to Guadalajarans.

Exactly where is Arileo's please.
