Election Day
Should be an interesting day for Mexican politics at the federal, state and municipal levels. AMLO was ahead in the polls by over 25% a few days ago. I think it would take a colossal case of electoral fraud to stop this freight train.

On the other hand, it's hard to imagine the PRI letting go of its stranglehold on power without a very nasty fight. Even after the election, should it not go their way.

Re: Election Day
PRI isn't even in the running this time. They poll around 10%. The closest candidate is the PAN party polling around 25% to AMLOs 50+%.

I guess I didn't express my concern very clearly. I do know who's ahead in the polls. I am thinking that the PRI is far more concerned about AMLO winning and seriously going after the corruption existing in both their party and PAN.

Re: Election Day
PRI gave up their stranglehold on power for 12 years....from 2000 to 2012.
Those elections were a struggle between PAN and AMLO, nothing to do with PRI.

Friend went to vote this a.m. Rejected her...they said she isn’t registered to vote with the INE. Except, she has her valid INE credential and has had it forever.... up to date, correct info, everything. This is how electoral fraud happens, in part.

Re: Election Day
Been watching videos of the election fraud in Joco happening right now. Video explains it all, can't share it is on FB, try YouTube's. Pretty interesting.
Went with a friend this morning in SA. Very organized and efficient. Did not see one cop or anyone hustling votes but we did see a woman walking away with a dispensa so apparently it was happening. Contrast a few years ago when there were cops and hustlers all over buying votes. They didn't allow me into the voting area. Tranquilo this year.

Re: Election Day
They probably rejected her based on the color of her skin, most natives are stuck in poverty and would vote AMLO, Spanish decedents on the other hand or more middle to have it all class and would most probably vote PAN/PRI. This is just my opinion...

Perhaps some basis for this, except that three quarters of my light skinned Mexican friends (gueros) are AMLO voters also. Too many polls in the lakeside area and Guadalajara are reporting so many anomalies. Person not listed, INE/IFE valid credencial but says not, no ballots “foráneos”, running out of ballots, handing out dispensas, police too close to the voting place which intimidates voters. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Check out TR’s report on jocotepec YouTube video above.

Re: Election Day
This is getting discouraging but I guess it is expected in a country where the cartel probably has much more money then the government. I believe AMLO is probably the best hope for Mexicans, so I hope he wins. (Thinking of oiling my 38 just in case...)

Re: Election Day
Per Rony:
According to the exit polls, AMLO will be the next Mexican president.... He would get almost half of all votes. ( Radio Imagen DF, 8 pm, July 1st )

Re: Election Day
Meade (PRI) has already conceded defeat based on the exit polls. His numbers must be dismal......

Here is the Elecciones Mexico twitter feed. They are saying the exit polls have AMLO in the lead by a large percentage.

Re: Election Day
Both CNN Mexico and Univision have declared AMLO the winner. Trump has sent his congratulations. Don't know if that is based on exit polls or official results.
