greed for money and power trumps everything else- Many politicians get murdered or tortured and more come for the nice money they make up front and on the side.. Last year The presidente of a town I go to was caught badly beaten up, almost killed he ended up in the hospital and back into the election to be presidente again...this happens in many municipalities so the pay is good why else would they be risking their live?..

Shocking, isn't it? Mind-boggling even, the thirst for money and power that you would put your life and that of your family's in such mortal danger. Sure says something about the character of the person.

Power and money (aka mordidas)

Over 40 Poliicia were killed in Jalisco in 2018....most in the pursuit of criminal activity, not collecting mordidas.

One of my best friends is Policia Estatal, near retirement, and he just has to suck it up every day he goes to work, knowing it could be his last.
Losing you life or collecting a mordida is not comprable.

Nope......not even been approached.  They do their homework and pick their spots of least resistance or most cooperation.  It's not a blanket campaign to recruit police. They know where the weak sisters are through contacts and intelligence before they lower the anvil.

I was responding to "why do that job either" in Canuck Bob's post. We all know there are cops with integrity and those without... as in every profession.
The good cops should be paid more.
I wish your friend a healthy and long retirement. And I am sorry for the deaths of the other cops but I don't know anything about them and can't say which side of the fence they were on.
