Why?  Who packed the stuff?  What about the driver?  IMHO, might as well shop early enough to avoid crowds and hope the check out person has clean hands as he/she touches each item you'll be taking home.
Lady Luck is the one really in charge here, sad to say.
I agree. My doctor insists that things like papaya, oranges, apples, cucumbers etc. must be scrubbed with detergent in water and a brush. Other things soaked in Microdyn. I wonder if frozen dinners from Costco might be safer because of quality control.

Not really but it kills everything else. No fruit or vegetable goes in my fridge without soaking it in Microdyn/water solution. I tend to use more Microdyn than recommended and let it soak for longer than recommended and then air dry. Still here after 24 years in Mexico. YMMV.

Here's a thread from last year on the subject on TOB...
https://www.chapala.com/webboard/index.php?/topic/77711-disinfecting-fruits-and-vegetables/

Within that thread is this link for bleach rinse by Alpha 1...
https://modernsurvivalblog.com/survival-kitchen/chlorine-bleach-for-sanitizing-raw-fruits-and-vegetables/

Alpha1's link states quite clearly that, after the bleach solution soak, that the fruit and veg must be rinsed with potable water.
On the other hand, I use purified water with the microdyn to begin with but don't rinse. I believe the small dose of Colloidal Silver that enters my body may a good thing.
I may very well be wrong and certainly have no idea of its effect on the Coronavirus. Hopefully, we can compare notes in six months???
