Flair Airlines announces non stop service from Toronto to Guadalajara

As part of the schedule, the ultra-low-cost carrier will be adding nonstop service from Toronto to Guadalajara, Mexico starting in September 2024, further expanding its international network. The new route follows last year's successful launch of Flair's nonstop service from Vancouver to Guadalajara.

Flair doesn't begin its flights to Vancouver until May 31, 2024. Unfortunately, Flair is in big financial trouble now and analysts predict they will go under by October.....

Let's hope not.

I am aware of Flair's financial problems. However, I have booked a flight to Toronto for September 16th and return September 30th. I also paid for flight cancellation or change and for lost luggage. It's a dream to have a direct flight that is usually a twelve hour hassle that includes a stopover and/or terminal change. Vamos a ver.

Westjet has direct flights from Puerto Vallarta to Toronto. Flying the short stint from Guad to PV and then on to Toronto seems a lot more preferable than a 12 hour journey.

I have done that and it's not fun and especially in September. Thought I would pass out from the heat. The flight connection timing required me to stay overnight. Never again.

Unfortunately, if Flair goes under those insurance add-ons will be null and void. You will lose your money. I am also going to Vancouver in September and would like to fly direct so I will see where they are at financially in August and book last minute. If I were you, I would cancel those tickets (if you can get a refund) and rebook in August if it looks safe. I read another article where they stated that buying a Flair ticket now was high risk......

Depends on the insurance.  If it's direct with airline and they go belly-up you're out of luck.  But check with 3rd party insurers and find out their policy for refunds due to airline cancellation or going out of business.  

I bought Allianz Insurance for a flight to Europe and they gave me (and my partner) full refund because I had a medical issue that was going to remain unresolved by flight day.

There is no doubt that I am taking a risk. On the other hand, perhaps I am contributing to their continued solvency. Time will tell. These options, from Guadalajara to Toronto and Vancouver are long overdue.

Aeromar went out of business more than a year ago. Their website is still offering flights.

I have a Flair flight from PVR to Vancouver in two weeks.
