Renting car in Canada

I recently tried to rent a car in Regina, SK using my Mexican DL. I have done this in Vancouver, Winnipeg and UK with no issues at all. Enterprise refused to accept it insisting on an International license or a translation of the Mexican DL. I said there is nothing to translate, there is the DL #, my name and the the state and country. Nothing to translate here. Has anyone else had this happen?

It's never happened to me when renting a car in Toronto. Did you speak with the Manager? Sounds like an employee overcome with their own importance.

Actually, the young man I was dealing with was fine with it until Mr Manager strutted by and decided to kibash the transaction. I ‘ll check with other companies so I’m better prepared next time. Just a heads up.
