I went to Chapala to pay my fine this morning and office was closed. Does anyone know if they are closed thru New Year? The back of the citation shows Banks, Oxxo, and 7-11....can they be paid there?

When I get my fishing license, I go to license office, they fill out paperwork, go to the bank, pay, then return to office and receive fishing license.

CG...I will check....Paid @ their collection office, in Chapala. I was concerned about proper credit, as now they tie it into FM3......which means @ renewal...gonna have to pony up bigtime

Another speed trap was being set up today at noon same spot

Validad is setting up Speed Trap @ entrance to Brisas..12:30 p.m. ...3rd time this week. Must be like catching fish in a barrel

Just returned from GDL.....they are setting up speed trap again....South bound lane

They are ticketing again today, Same place. 12:30

The thing that makes this a difficult speed trap, is that the Policia is standing in the trees on the median, with camera and radar. The Validad has at least 8 policia with radios pulling people over. I assumed that since 4 people passed me all was good....NADA. The sad truth is, the revenue generated goes to State of Jalisco.....Chapala receives NADA

I suppose the only resolution is to do the speed limit............

Or have a radar detector, I have one for each car, one is cordless to take with me. They usually do the same spots. I know someone who got caught today.

Yea until they get an instant on laser one from some anti terrorist grant from the US. Your alarm will go off as you are being nailed but sometimes
if enough cars are present you get warning. Very little Radar left in US at least in the west everybody uses instant laser.

There is no money here and they use old equipment, few have radar detectors.

They were setting another up today 11:45 am. Typically at night they will be on North Bound lane over the hill @ Ixtlauacan. If you are heading Southbound going down the hill to Sorianos, they will have Orange Cones set up cutting to one lane....... If you observe the cones simply take a left into Chapala Haciendas # 2.......Follow Coderneces down the hill, and you exit the not so great road, west of Sorianos.

I only post this as it is a pain in the jim w....LOL....to deal with this.....Hopefully gives every options.....fine is nothing but a 2 hour inconvenience.....Happy New Year all!

They were packing up today by Chapala Haciendas today at 2.30pm when returning to Chapala, I was expecting them.

We were ready for them; went in to Guadalajara at 9 and returned at 3. Missed 'em. Dang!

While we have driven that routes hundreds of times, I am curious as to just how close to their favorite spots the speed limit sign is?
