Not locally but I hear in some areas the Pemex's are closed due to violent protesters.

I probably won't be doing any road trips until things settle down a bit.

More blockades and looting promised by unhappy people and agitators and even higher gas prices promised by the government in February.

At the moment, regular gas per litre in Toronto, Ontario and regular gas per litre in Mexico are the same. The difference is that, in Toronto, the minimum wage is 11 dollars per HOUR.
I feel very badly for the Mexican people. I also wonder why the extreme hikes all at once instead of a little every month which would have been considerably less painful.

They have been hiking it a little every month for the past several years trying to get caught up. Now that they have a de-regulated market coming along they can no longer subsidize it. Apparently the government was still spending billions of pesos per year in fuel subsidies.

Or certain people will no longer be in office soon and they want to have money in the coffers to loot and use to bribe people to vote a certain way next year with social programs if not gift cards, etc.
