2 new murders in Chapala last night

It has long been known that the CJNG and the Sinaloa cartel, and splinter groups thereof,  have been fighting for control in several and various fronts. There are rumors that a third group has gotten involved in the GDL/Chapala area in the fray.  Could be the Zetas, as they are even more opposed to the CJNG.
What is hard to comprehend is why Chapala is so important as you wouldn´t think this was a great market. Maybe just because it is a transit point for crossing the lake by boat with merchandise?

It is hard to believe, isn't it. Either market or route, it must be very lucrative. Not to mention the complicit admin. . .
