More on the virus

No new cases in Mexico since late yesterday although China is seeing another surge as student expats return home bringing the virus with them.

Two months ago saw the first corona case in Washington state. Now they have 1500 cases. Mexico is on its way and there will be no stalling. We’re just not hearing about it because testing is not widespread.

Or maybe the virus is stalled from tequila, hot peppers and heat? I'm going to self medicate with all of the above.

I’ve been trying different red wines and they all work pretty well.

The US has now surpassed Spain with almost 26,000 cases. Mexico still remains at 203 confirmed. This has to be BS.......

Italy is reporting a 9% death rate. The UK has a 24% death rate!!!!

Nobody can figure out why Germany has such a low death rate.

I got a group whatsapp msg last week that Andre Bellon, Bellon Insurance, flew to Spain I think for a week. If true, I would steer clear of any Bellon office visits for a while.

Although I disagree with that decision, at least he forewarned his clients

We have 2 corona victims in the Rio Grande Valley. One is a 21 yo that just came back from a vacation to Spain and to
Ireland and the other one is an 81yo who just got back from Florida.

Germany has very good health care,  great insurance, both government and private, has had it for many years.Great routine care and so forth. You certainly don't get taken to the cleaners every time you stick your nose in the door at a doctors office, unlike the US, were in many regions medical bills account for most personal bankruptcies.
So people go to the doctor before they are at death's door, I bet that has something to do with it.
Many years ago we lived in Bavaria and my husband was stunned because AOK Bad Toelz ( not sure what Allgemeine Orts Krankenkasse translates to!) gave money back at the end of a year, cause there was so much of the premium money left. I also got a big package of goodies in the hospital when our youngest was born--- compliments of the insurance.
Healthcare as it should be, although the system is stressed at this time!
Of course, with this virus, I think all bets are off!

Germans are extremely compliant so they probably follow the rules a hell odf a lot closer than the It tickets for people not following the rules in those countries.alians, Spaniards and French who are known to have their own ideas.. That is why they had to have 140 euros

I have many Mexican friends i large Mexicn cities and they seem to abide by the rules but in the country we are still getting.. do not worry no pasa nada..

They´re stalled because it´s hard for a foreign virus to establish a "plaza" with the existing Mexican ones…..

They say the curve will be to double every six days or less so this time next week there will be over 500 cases and so forth. Assuming they even have any more test kits....

Mexico needs to stop all international travel immediately.

Trump will not allow this in the US unless he or his buddies can profit from it.
Answer to ferrets comment

There are many Canadians on this forum who will be delighted that a home grown test is in the works. I'll refrain from commenting on Trump lest this thread end up in the Political section where only members can see it.

So Trump had offered humanitarian aid to Iran and I believe North Korea but can not provide for people living in the US. No wonder sales of guns have drastically increased.

Tests are nice a cure would be better.

I agree. One step at a time? No point giving someone meds that are not effective on the virus or are a last ditch effort when all else fails.
