Reynosa reported 1093 cases and McAllen 373 cases yesterday. Be careful if you cross through there.

The Informador has an article about the reporting of CV data saying Jalisco was ranked 27th in transparency.

I believe that Jalisco is very transparent and I thank Alfaro for that.
It's the little discrepancies that make me want to understand what's going on with the stats. Local Chapala Municipal Government saying 28 when the "official" stat says 20. Just wanna know.

Chapala Expat Liaison

54 mins ·
Buenos Dias a Todos ! Good Morning my friends! Chapala is still on 28 confirmed cases for the Chapala Municipality. I want to inform you officially the checkup points are gone and the malecons are open, There are still some sectors closed , but, a big percentage of the businesses are open now.

The future is NOT uncertain. Just look to what is happening in the US . Where the people are ignoring the precautions, the infections are soring. Where people are following the precautions, masks and testing,
the numbers are down. Which path will Chapala take. It is up to all of us to determine our future. Please be safe and not become a statistic.

Your friend, Hector Espana!

Went to the Ajijic Malecon this morning. Parking lots blocked with yellow tape.

Just walked it end to end.  No tape.  Mask usage abysmal.  Groups picnicking in the park.  Wide-assed gringos walking 4 abreast with their dogs.  Pretty much back to normal.

Maybe when their asses get wider they'll be in compliance!

Just walked the SA malecon. A herd of cows, 2 horses, 1 yellow lab, 3 gardeners, and me and my dog. Heaven. And no wide-ass gringos!

For anyone following Chris Martenson, towards the end he talks about other therapies that are being tried with good results. Remdesivir is still not the stellar standout that Fauci would like it to be.

Most Mexicans I know who follow the rules, think parks and malecons are worst places for people not be in line with the protocols.

That second report was a very nice compilation of where we are right now. Thanks for the link. It stresses the fact that the sooner you act on the problem the better results you’re going to get.

There are many, many different types of research going on to combat the virus. Here's a different approach by one team...

Has anyone in the Chapala area talked to their doctor to find out what’s available or how Covid-19 is being treated there?

My understanding is the Joco hospital is the designated COVID facility for the area. Supposedly they have testing capabilities. Maybe that's why their numbers are high.

One of my docs wrote and said if I had symptoms to call him and he would get me tested. After that, I have no clue what would happen.

I'm pretty sure people that are sick go directly to Guad. The rest go home. I wonder where they send sick COVID pts when they are out of COVID beds in Guad.

My plan is not to get it.

I have been suggesting hydroxychloroquine only because I don’t think that there’s anything else available down there. But perhaps there is.

Taking vitamin supplements will not keep you from becoming infected if you get a positive exposure, but it might help the way your body responds to the transmission.

Avoid the possibility of exposure. Wear masks. Stay home.

I am going to keep posting reports of studies that I come across to make people AWARE and WARY.
This first one is about Dr. Camilla Rothe who first reported asymptomatic carriers in Germany ON JANUARY 27th...
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/how-the-world-missed-covid-19s-silent-spread/ar-BB1624sK

This second one is about possible Neurological damage from the Coronavirus...

Yes, Ferrett, do keep posting what you find.
I think the virus was getting around long before we think it was. I actually think I had it. I had an Airbnb guest back the first week of March who came from Washington, DC. About 2 weeks later, the most bizarre thing happened- I got an itchy spot on my toe, scratched it without even looking at it, then the next day it just looked like a spot I'd scratched too hard. But within 24 hours, it started turning into an ulcerating, necrotizing sore that was growing really quickly. What has been described as COVID toe, although most of those cases are just discoloration, but they can start to ulcerate. I'd never had anything like it in my life. And the reports of COVID toe didn't come out until the thing was finally healed, about 2 weeks later.
Then my guest contacted me to say she got sick a few days after she left here- fever, dry cough, etc. (She was my last guest- needless to say I'm not hosting my private room now and cancelled the guest who had a reservation for early April))
I had no other symptoms, but that doesn't really surprise me. I'm a senior, but I have a bizarrely strong immune system- I literally haven't had a cold or the flu for about 25 years, even if I'm around people who do.
I'd love to get an antibody test, just to know if I actually had it. There's no proof yet that antibodies prevents reinfection, so of course I would still take all the same precautions I've been taking all along.

I had typhoid here without any noticeable symptoms. I got tested because my friends had it. I was surprised when it tested postive. It took two rounds on antibiotics to kill it.

Thanks for your personal experience mudgirl.
I occasionally read that the antibodies don't last very long. However, none of those reports ever mention the incredible memory that our immune system has. The antibodies may not be there but it doesn't mean that our bodies won't kick into the production of them immediately it encounters the virus again.
Keeping our immune systems in optimal condition to fight is the only other way to get around this virus... other than wearing a mask and social distancing to avoid exposure in the firs (or second) place.
Suerte!!!
