Yes it was. From what I understand they are not treating any covid patients in Chapala. If so, it kind of skews the numbers. Makes one wonder how many have been whisked away to GDL.

Cameron county, at the southernmost tip of Texas and with a population of about 425,000, had 101 covid positives yesterday. Tests are running about 30-50% positive and are freely available. Up until Memorial Day the rate was about 10-20 per day and then lockdown was rescinded and the rates have been gradually increasing.

I hear ya! Jalisco may be unlocking but I'm staying locked down. I drove by SuperLake and Pancho's on Saturday. Too many cars and way too many people... many customers NOT wearing masks. I didn't go into either store.

I found it interesting looking at the photos today of people in Mexico City standing outside the buildings they work in because of the earthquake. Almost everyone had masks on. Educated Mexicans are taking proper precautions. Here in the boonies, we are dealing with a lot of ignorance.
Mexico currently has one of the lowest testing rates in the world. So much for Obrador caring about his people.

Those numbers just don’t make sense. Jocotepec and Chapala haven’t budged for several days.

The active numbers have moved down. No new cases I guess.

Perhaps the local authorities are doing a better job of contact tracing than we assume.

Well like I was saying they haven't recorded my friend's two parents who have covid19. One is in the hospital the other is still at home.

......or not.

In ?Cameron County. Fri-83 cases. Mon-101 cases, Tues-111 cases. And people still don’t have the fear of god in them.

It's the active cases that have gone down. Recuperated have gone up. Fewer suspicious cases.
I sincerely hope that the stats are correct because it would mean that things are under control... until they aren't.
"Confirmed Cases" tells you boodiddleysquat.

Seems alittle strange that there is no new activity being reported.

CBob. I would imagine that your friend's Dad is counted in the Guadalajara cases since he is in hospital there.
Your friends mum may very well be one of the two "active" cases being reported for Chapala since the others (who recuperated very quickly) were reported to be YOUNG people.
Let's try and be optimistic at the same time as being wary of the stats.

Then the confirmed number should have went up.

Put 'em all in a row and pick one of two dates when the confirmed cases in Chapala (the municipality of) went up by ONE.

June 18th...19
June 19th...19
June 20th...19
June 21st...19
June 22nd...20... which is where the current confirmed cases remained.
I don't know which day her test was confirmed positive.

One of the charts on the government stats page shows that patient number 20 is a woman who was confirmed positive on June 19.

She was confirmed positive 2 days ago.

Today is the 24th and two days ago the 22nd when the count went up by one.
Can you give us an update on how she and her husband are doing please? I'm sending positive vibes to both of them.

The Dad is still in critical condition while the Mom is asymptomatic. No symptoms at all.........so far.

Chapala Municipality is now 28 official cases of Covid. Those who think the municipality is doing nothing, please answer the question how are we keeping the spread to 1 or less per day if we are doing nothing? Thank God we are not having an explosion of cases! As soon as I get new information I will continue to inform you. That is the best I can do.

BTW half of Chapala's cases have recovered.

Don't know how the figure got from 20 to 28 in one day, but if that is true, then WTF is Chapala doing stopping health check points and opening up the malecon? Yes, I want people to get out there, but not during sudden rises in infections. Look at Texas and all the other states up north who "opened up" and are now facing record numbers of cases every day? INCLUDING MEXICO.

I suspect based on queries above that those that need to be hospitalized are moved from their local area stats to those of the area in which the hospital is in Guadalajara. This is misleading. Do NOT let your guard down!

Reynosa reported 1093 cases and McAllen 373 cases yesterday. Be careful if you cross through there.
