Re. Zinc supplements. I went looking for zinc picolinate on internet sites, hoping to help keep Covid at bay, and found that a typical capsule is 50 mg. This is above the recommended tolerable upper intake and there are warnings that extended use of high amounts can lead to copper deficiency. Zinc is also provided by whole milk, cheese, eggs, dark chocolate, beef and other red meats, pumpkin seeds, nuts and other foods and most people get enough in their diet.

The tolerable upper intake level (recommended) is 40 mg, recommended daily amount: 8 mg for women, 11 mg for men.

So a little caution should be taken.

You’re right about that but Linus Pauling Institute of OSU goes on to say:
“Supplementation with doses of zinc in excess of the UL is effective to reduce the duration of common cold symptoms. The use of zinc at daily doses of 50 to 180 mg for one to two weeks has not resulted in serious side effects. (More information)”

One tablespoon of pumpkin seeds has 1 mg. of zinc.
Here's something interesting- in women, zinc is distributed evenly throughout the body. In men, 80% of the zinc is stored in the prostate. Perhaps men who get prostate problems are low in zinc.
It also prevents hair loss.

I once saw a study where they placed persons with the flu at various distances from uninfected persons to determine when contamination occurs. They determined that two persons have to be very close to each other because a large enough viral load has to find its way into the other person to infect him. However this virus is much more virulent and spreads more rapidly.

Cases as of July 5 reported in La Pagina newspaper from Radar Jalisco.  Deaths remain at 2 each in Chapala and Ixtlahuacan; 4 in Jocotepec.

According to these stats, there are no active cases in Chapala.
Please note that there are 10 that are suspicious. I don't know if they are waiting for test results or what.
The other thing is that I suspect any cases that require hospitalization are whisked away to Guadalajara and become one of their stats not ours.

Well they did finally add my friends Dad that passed away but not the Mother who was asymptomatic.

I think the other way round happened CBob. The Dad died in Guad in a hospital and the asymptomatic mother stayed at home so she was counted here.
